The first church in Acts 2 was devoted to God's Word, relationships, worship and prayer. It is our desire to help people take steps toward being devoted to the same values, a church like the first church!
This fall we are offering numerous opportunities to get connected in a small group to encourage and challenge each other in life through the study of God's Word and by growing in relationships with others, our worship of God and in prayer.
There are plenty of groups available meeting at church and in homes all over the area!

A Life Group is a small group of people (4-12) who meet on a regular basis to encourage and challenge each other to live life for Christ.
Most of the groups gather together weekly or bi-weekly and go through a lesson that is centered on the Bible. The lesson includes a time of fellowship, prayer, Bible discussion and application. The groups are encouraged to do service projects in the community, eat together regularly, and laugh together often.

Life Group FAQ’s
How important is it that I get in a Life Group?
At Discovery, we believe it is vital that you be connected to others in healthy and growing relationships. Jesus never intended us to go through the joys and trials of life alone. A Life Group is a place for each of us to be real with each other so that we can encourage and challenge each other to grow in our love for God and others.
How long do they last?
The groups will meet weekly or bi-monthly (depending on the groups preference) for approximately 90 minutes.
What is the required commitment?
We ask that those who attend the group make it a priority in their weekly schedule, keep what is said in the group confidential, participate in group-life, and be an encouragement to each other.
Is there childcare?
Some groups are child friendly and some are not. Each group is responsible for providing their own childcare. Depending on the age of the children, some groups include them in some part of the group time and others can provide a lesson for them separate from the adults. Other suggestions are that the parents chip in and hire a babysitter.
Will I ever have to host a group?
We believe that leading a Life Group is about being transparent, facilitating a lesson, and encouraging others. If you can do these three things, and if you’re a member of Discovery Church, you can host a Life Group.
How do I become a host?
Twice a year we have Host Training where you will get the how, what, and why’s of hosting/facilitating a group.
