Lunch with the Leaders is a monthly opportunity for people who are newer to Discovery to hear what makes our church unique, get their questions answered, and for us to get to know each other. We provide lunch and childcare so you can focus. Please RSVP so we can best prepare for you.
What does physical wellness look like? Both for us physically as well as spiritually as the body of Christ?
God created each of us to be unique and to serve a particular purpose.
This year at adventure camp, we will have a fun time exploring what it means to be part of the body of Christ and how we are called to take care of our physical bodies. We will explore topics like nutrition, fitness, and rest in fun and creative ways.
New this year, we will have three opportunities to participate in the adventure camp fun! We will offer two one-day camps (one in spring and one in fall) and our traditional week-long summer camp.
May and summer camps are open to kids who will be entering kindergarten through 5th grade (fall of 2024). October event will be open to kids currently in K-5th (fall of 2024).
We will have a public open house from 5-7 PM after each one-day camp. There will be food trucks, a book fair, live music, bounce houses, and open access to our indoor playground and golf course.

Current 5th graders are invited to join our usual Student ministry crew (6th-12th grades) for the last big party of the year: BURN YOUR HOMEWORK. And it is what it sounds like. Students are invited to bring one especially challenging or meaningful assignment to burn in the fire as a recognition of their perseverance and symbol of transitions. Plus, it satisfies our inner pyromaniac.
We'll play games, race through inflatables, snack on snacks, and dream about the upcoming year. No need to RSVP; just mark your calendars and show up!
Rooted is a 10-Week experience that develops a deep, lasting connection with God, the Church, and your purpose. By introducing and practicing Seven Rhythms, Rooted guides you in establishing a transformational lifestyle. New Rooted Groups begin in May. Days and times tbd.
A Night to Remember is a formal gala where special needs guests will walk the red carpet, get their picture taken by paparazzi, play games, eat delicious party food, and then dance the night away with their friends.
MOVE is a 5-day summer event designed for high school students to know Jesus better, deepen their relationships, and be sent out to do Kingdom Work. This event is for anyone moving into or out of High School.
MIX is a 4-day summer event built for middle school brains, hearts, and bodies. That’s why the Gospel is taught in a way they understand. It’s why small group discussions aren’t an afterthought. And it’s why we play a lot. Moments at MIX change lives and could be the most important four days of your youth ministry calendar. This event is for any students going into sixth grade or leaving eighth grade.

Our next quarterly Dream Team Gathering is set for Saturday, April 13 from 9-10:30am at Discovery. From 9-9:30am we will meet all together in the Venue and from 9:30-10:30am we will meet in our ministry teams. Even if you are not currently on a team you are welcome to come and get involved in the team that is right for you.
Join us Friday March 29th for our first walk through Good Friday experience. We are designing this immersive and reflective walk-thru for anyone and everyone, from children to seniors, to help prepare them for Resurrection Sunday. This unique experience will take you through four crucial moments of Jesus’ final days leading up to the cross. This is a great opportunity to do with your whole family, your Neighborhood Group, or even a group of friends before or after dinner.

This prestigious invitational has been an enduring staple of Irish-based holidays & Discovery Students since its introduction in March of 2024.
Please bring athletic attire, a team of friends, a competitive spirit, & individually packaged nut-free snacks expiring after 8/2/24 to donate to Urban Impact.
Team Sign-ups will take place when you arrive. There is a maximum of five players on the court to start for each team. You’ll have the chance to win glory, honor, and prizes.

Rooted (Students) is a 6-Week experience that provides a framework for a deep, lasting connection with God, the Church, and your purpose. By introducing and developing key practices and rhythms, Rooted guides you in establishing a transformational lifestyle.
The Rooted Experience includes daily meditations, weekly group conversations, a prayer experience, and a serve experience.
Just like anything worth doing, you’ll get out of it what you put into it. It’s a high-commitment season requiring you to invest your time, energy, and finances. The cost is $25 and includes a book and snacks. We also ask that you do your best to make as many gatherings of your Rooted group as possible. If you expect to miss more than two, please consider committing to Rooted during another season.

Like any journey, it’s important to huddle up and get the lay of the land. Basecamp gives leaders in our church an opportunity to share our vision and values with anyone interested in joining our church as we follow Jesus together. Meet us right after the second service in the Public Room. We’ll buy lunch and provide any childcare.
The Nation’s largest Christian pre-teen event is coming to Pittsburgh! SuperStart is a high-energy, intentionally crafted weekend event for preteens to hear the gospel, learn Biblical truths, and be called to a life of Kingdom work. Join us for this super fun, faith-building, and friendship-building event.
Kids will meet at Discovery and travel to Impact Christian Church, Moon Two. for the event. Since this is a two-day event, participants are invited (but not required) to stay at the church Friday night into Saturday for Discovery Kids Lock-in!
Dates are important for every couple, no matter what stage of family life you are in! Intentional sharing and meaningful time together are a must. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask your spouse to be your valentine and invest in your relationship.
Discovery is investing as well. You can't have a Valentine's Date Night without childcare! Register and sign up for complimentary childcare! A Chick-fil-a meal will be served for children ages nursery through grade 5.
And as an added bonus, 25 lucky couples can choose to have dinner in the Public Room here at Discovery. The menu will be personalized by Chef Greg Vakiner for $50.00 per couple.

We’re closing out the year and this season of Students with a good old fashioned X games. Christmas cookies, yeti hunting, karaoke, Mario kart, Christmas Cards, hot chocolate and more. Wear something Christmasy, bring a friend, and rotate through three Christmas-soaked experiences. With every win, your name will be entered into a drawing for various prizes—anything from Stanely Cups (the other ones) to thrift store Christmas Sweaters.

We're teaming up with KidsVoice to make sure some kids in challenging circumstances receive meaningful presents this Christmas. We have over 80 nominated kids (and we'll find more if we need to) who are in some way involved in the foster care system.

Join us by the fire with s’mores, pizza, hot drinks, board games, and a game of Humans vs Zombies! Use Nerf guns and pool noodles to save yourself. Bring canned food goods so you and others can survive, and get some in-game power-ups. Bring a friend too. RSVP helpful, but not necessary.
Our Annual Women's Summit is taking a retreat to the great outdoors this October. This weekend will be a breath of fresh air and the perfect way to reconnect with God and other likeminded ladies at Discovery. We will be surrounded by nature and fun outdoors activities as well as meaningful messages, intentional group discussions, and worship to restore our hearts and minds.
Has your child been asking you lots of questions... not the repetitive ones like "What's for dinner?" or "What are we doing today?" But "Who is Jesus? What does it mean to accept Jesus into my heart? Can I get baptized?" Answering these questions and generating meaningful conversations around these topics can be difficult.
Join us for a baptism class recommended for children ages 9-14 yrs old. Lunch will be provided. Matt will lead the discussion, helping prepare students to make this statement of faith.
There will be a baptism opportunity on October 29th. We hope that the class will help foster a discussion between you and your child to determine if they are ready to take this next step.
It's been almost a decade, but the Discovery Students Fall HS Retreat is making a come back!!
Join us for the weekend at Teen Quest Ranch in Somerset, PA!!
In addition to worship and group sessions, we will have a blast in their Xtreme Barn, playing paint ball in the woods, testing your skills on the challenge course, taking hikes in the woods, and so much more on their giant property!
We will meet at Discovery at 4:30pm on Friday, Sept 22. Bring money for a quick dinner stop at McDonald's.
After a fun-filled weekend, we will return by noon on Sunday, Sept 24.

Are we using technology, or is it using us? Screens have been fully integrated into our everyday lives and relationships. While they keep us connected, enhance our creativity, and keep us entertained, when our approach lacks intentionality, it can keep us from living the healthy, thriving life God intends. Christina Avallone has written and presented extensively in the local area on how to thoughtfully engage technology within our individual lives and family, especially focusing on the dangers of digital addiction. Join us as we grow our wisdom and create a plan to use technology for all it’s worth before it uses us.

Everyone's a winner on draft night! Compete in one of our fantasy leagues, so you have more ways to trash talk at church. This year in Adventure Camp, we are traveling "back to the future," to the decades of the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s, to explore all those things that kids thought were "rad" and "phat" and to find out that even though things change, God always stays the same!
Adventure Camp is for Elementary students from entering Kindergarten-entering 5th Grade.
Dinner will be served each day.
We’re passionate about serving others both in the US and around the world. From July 1st-8th 2023, we'll be partnering with Mission to El Salvador in their work serving the people of San Salvador, El Salvador.
This trip is for ANYONE! Whether you’re a professional contractor, a business executive, or a retiree, your unique gifts will be used to bless both our ministry partners and the people of El Salvador.
The final cost of the trip is expected to be $1500. This number is flexible as costs will vary depending on airline rates.

5th-grade students and their families are welcome!
SuperStart is a high-energy weekend event where preteens (4th and 5th Grade) can learn and grow in their relationships with friends, leaders, and, most importantly, God.
The cost for this event is all-inclusive and covers the registration fee, special activities, hotel, food, adult chaperones, and transportation.
If your child is interested in attending but your family is suffering hardship, we do not want the cost to hold your child back.

On March 5th, Discovery Students is sponsoring a luncheon after church. All proceeds will be donated to our ministry partners at Mustard Seed Network to help fund their second annual Renew Youth Conference in Japan. As our students gear up for experiences through CIY conferences, this is a great time to help students on the other side of the world have that same type of life-changing experience!
They say one of Jesus' greatest miracles is that he had a close group of friends in his 30s. If it was so important to his own well-being, success, and impact, it's probably even more important for us!
What if "step outside" wasn't the language we used to pick a fight, but to find a friend. As guys, we typically hold it all in. We try to absorb our anxieties and insecurities. We try to hold our ground in our opinions. We try to protect our fragile egos. But all those are great strategies for maintaining our isolation. What if we were man enough to take a risk and step outside everything holding us back?
This winter we're going to step outside of our comfort zones into the frigid winter like real mean with a group of other dudes to find some companions on life's journey. Don't worry, we'll still be staying in toasty cabins, have acces to fully functioning bathrooms (even though the world is our toilet!), tons of junk food (read "pizza rolls"), and three square meals a day.
Meeting monthly to explore all kinds of great literature. Fiction, memoirs, popular philosophy, you name it (Christian or not!), we want to read it. Location varies.

CIY MOVE is a 5-day summer event designed for high school students 9th - 12th graders to know Jesus better, deepen their relationships, and to be sent out to do Kingdom Work. This is an awesome experience for our students and we do not want the cost to hold them back. Parents do sign up students and feel free to reach out to Franny for all further information.
The cost is all-inclusive. However, students are welcome to bring their own money to purchase CIY souvenirs.
The total cost to attend is $530 per student. A deposit of $100 must be made upon registering. Please be aware that there are only 16 spots for students and the cost for this trip is non-refundable.
