NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS

One of the most important ways we bring Heaven to earth through Discovery is by living out this mission beyond Sunday. Gathering in smaller groups, we come together to get to know each other , encourage one another, pray for each other, study the Bible together, and serve together.

Because we’ve been inspired by the mission of Jesus to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:40), many of these groups meet in homes around the community so we can invite neighbors to go on this journey of exploring Jesus together.

There are three “seasons” of when Discovery Groups come together:

  • January - April: Neighborhood Groups and Rooted

  • May - July: Rooted

  • September - December: Neighborhood Groups and Rooted

Hit the button below to explore the Groups that are available or reach out to us to let us know what your interests and availability are and we’ll get you connected.

Won’t you be our neighbor?

•Why “Neighborhood Groups?”•

Purpose

Neighborhood Groups have a developing sense of God’s mission in their local community. Our shared connections to local organizations, sports teams, schools, and even simply regular neighbors help open up more concrete opportunities to love our neighbors.

ENGAGE

Neighborhood Groups have overlapping lives and regular interactions in their community. By forming groups around an area, members will be more likely to show up to gatherings, help each other, hang out, and interact together more regularly. They’ll naturally be in each other’s lives, which decreases burn out and increases opportunity.

Diversity

Neighborhood Groups are more likely intergenerational and diverse. While there are plenty of benefits to having friends that share a similar life stage and lifestyle, we naturally do this already. We believe wisdom through different perspectives and experiences will naturally develop when these diverse groups engage Jesus' mission together. Besides the deepest friendship develops as you pursue a common purpose together.

“We're not supposed to love only our neighbors, but Jesus thought we should start with them. I bet He knew if our love isn't going to work for the people who live close to us, then it's probably not going to work for the rest of the world. Jesus didn't say who our neighbors are either. Probably so we wouldn't start making lists of those we don't need to love.”
